Emergency Management

What is Emergency Management?

Emergency preparedness can help limit the negative impact of urgent matters and critical events. Because of this, the OKC Department of Airports operates with emergency management systems in place, which consider every contingency, ensuring our travelers, employees, and visitors are kept safe while passing through our airports and territories.

In Case of Emergency

Find detailed information on how the dedicated teams at our airports handle urgent matters, as well as direction and guidance for you, the traveler, on what to do and who to contact in the case of an emergency. Maps directing you to our many defibrillator stations and refuge areas throughout the airports are also accessible.

AED Locations

There are numerous automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) located throughout all three OKC airports. View on the map.

Emergency Contingency Plan

This plan describes how OKC International Airport will provide for the deplanement of passengers, provide for the sharing of facilities, make gates available at the airport, and provide a sterile area following excessive tarmac delays for passengers who have not yet cleared United States Customs & Border Protection (CBP).

Areas of Refuge

An area of refuge or safe room is a place in a building designed to hold occupants during a tornado, fire, or other emergency when evacuation may not be safe or possible. There are numerous areas of refuge located through all three OKC airports. View on the map.

See Something, Say Something

Remain aware of your surroundings and don’t hesitate to speak up if you notice anything concerning. Remember, we all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe.
